Moss enthusiast and lifelong naturalist exploring how the smallest living systems can drive smarter solutions for healthier soil and land.
Big change starts small

A little about me and the work we are pushing to accomplish
I’m an avid moss and nature enthusiast driven by a simple question: how can we make better use of the environmental resources already around us to improve soil health, support plant growth, and create lasting change through smarter, more efficient solutions?
In 2017, I hiked the Appalachian Trail, an experience that deepened my appreciation for the countless plants and animals we walk past every day without a second thought. It opened my eyes to the intricate ecosystems all around us and sparked a curiosity about the natural world that hasn’t faded since.
Over the years, I’ve built and maintained a variety of terrariums, a hobby that’s proven as insightful as it is enjoyable. Tending these miniature ecosystems has taught me how nature functions, adapts, and thrives when given the right conditions. I believe we all share a responsibility to be good stewards of our environment, and I’m committed to doing my part. And if I had to guess, I suspect moss will play an important role in that journey.
FAQs
What kind of projects are you working on?
We’re exploring how moss can help rebuild and restore land affected by wildfires, landslides, and erosion. We’re also investigating the role moss can play in preventing desertification.
Why moss?
Moss is one of nature’s quiet overachievers. It stabilizes soil, retains moisture, and can take hold in harsh conditions where other plants struggle. That makes it a promising, low-cost tool for restoring damaged land and building healthier ecosystems from the ground up.
Where can I see your latest work?
All of our latest work can be found on our Resources and Guides pages. We do our best to post regular updates on any ongoing projects.
Do I need experience to get started with moss?
Not at all. Whether you’re curious about terrariums, soil health, or large-scale restoration, there’s an entry point for everyone. Our guides are written to be approachable, no background required.
